Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025

Over 10 years since it's release, Windows 10 support is coming to an end. What does this mean for you? And what options do you have?

Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for Windows 10. Users are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11 for continued support and enhanced security.

If your PC is less than 5 years old then it may well support Windows 11 already! Sometimes a few changes are required to make the machine compatible with the newer operating system. This is something we can help with.

10 Years Of Mobile Computer Services!

The new season is a great reason to make and keep resolutions. Whether it’s eating right or cleaning out the garage, here are some tips for making and keeping resolutions.

Today marks 10 years since I set up Mobile Computer Services! I remember leaving my old job the day we got the keys to our new house.

It felt a very big step waking up the next day to an empty diary. But fortunately I was able to sub contract at my old place PC Bits and Bytes (which I helped to start way back in 2003!) until enough work came in that I could reduce my hours there.

Have thoroughly enjoyed my work and have met some great people, some who started as customers and are now good friends.thanks to everyone for the support over the years, here’s to another 10 years!

Windows 7 End of Support – Important

All good things must come to an end and on the 14th January 2020 Microsoft finally ended support for Windows 7, more than 10 years after it’s release!

What does this mean for you?

This doesn’t mean your computer is simply going to stop working, in the short term everything will seem to continue as normal, Google’s Chrome Browser will support windows 7 until at least 2021 according to reports, and many 3rd party Antivirus providers will continue to offer Windows 7 compatible products.

But, if a new security vulnerability or software bug is uncovered in Windows 7, Microsoft is no longer obliged to release any sort of patch to fix the issue on the unsupported operating system; and that’s something that could put individuals and organisations that still rely on Windows 7 in danger from cyberattacks, hacking and malware.

Our Advice is to consider upgrading to Windows 10. This is a service we offer and our engineers can often perform an upgrade onsite, retaining your documents, pictures etc. and (in most cases) your programs!

In our experience not all computers running Windows 7 can support Windows 10, especially older systems. we would recommend any machine older than 6 years old be replaced with a newer model. This is something we can help with as we would assess your machine first to ensure a smooth transition. We may be able to upgrade your older machine to bring it up to Windows 10 recommendations!
